High Volume Dove Hunting: Unlimited Opportunities in Córdoba, Argentina
Imagine hunting more than 1,000 doves in just one day. If this seems unreal, then imagine the teams of hunters heading for Argentina, and trying to break our record of hunting 4751 doves in one day!
But there is a problem. A misperception perhaps — and it is causing the hunters from the North to miss on this opportunity of a lifetime:
Hunters from the US find it hard to believe that an open season for dove hunting in Argentina throughout the year is even possible.
Given the strict regulations in the US where doves are considered as migratory species and protected under State regulations, the hunters have to lead their hunting lives by a fixed bag limit for the day. Given these strict state regulations on dove hunting, we don’t blame them for perceiving this lucrative possibility as even remotely possible.
But we don’t want our hunter brethren to miss on the opportunity that the Argentina dove hunt has to offer to them. This article is intended to give you a brief overview of how Argentina dove hunting has been able to sustain this lucrative opportunity for over a decade.
State Hunting Regulations in Argentina and US
Daily bag limit
This is the maximum number of migratory game birds of a single species or combination (aggregate) of species that a single hunter is permitted to take in either any one day during the open season and in the specified geographic location.
Possession limit
This is the maximum number of migratory game birds of a single species or a combination of species that a single hunter is legally permitted to carry in the US in any specified geographic location.
According to the US Office of Law Enforcement’s hunter’s responsibility: “You can take only one daily bag limit in any one day. This limit determines the number of doves you can have in your possession while in the field or while in route back to your car, hunting camp, home, or other destination.”
With us, it is unlikely that these two hunting terms will cross your ears.
We don’t limit how much hunting you can do on our fields. At SYC Sporting Adventures, you will find a limitless Cordoba dove hunting experience in premier hunting grounds, experience the adrenaline rush from a thrilling hunt, and return to our 5-star hunting lodge for a relaxing night before the next hunt.
The table below compares the regulations in place under some states in the US. The data is meant to show the widespread use of bag limits in the US.
Texas

Possession limit: Twice the daily bag limit

At SYC Sporting Adventures, we are able to offer the limitless shock to our US visitors on their hunting trips because of a widely known secret — well, widely known in the hunting circles of Cordoba and Argentina! Let’s get you in on it shall we?
What’s the Secret to Our Limitless Shock?
How can we give you “zero limits” on hunting doves and pigeons in Cordoba and an open season every year? The secret lies in the way nature has made the River Parana as the migratory root for the birds and as a result has turned Buenos Aires — and in turn Cordoba — into the natural habitat for hunters.
The Annual Scourge of Doves
One answer to “why we offer limitless hunting of doves?” is that we WANT you to hunt them down. In Cordoba, dove hunting and hunters are seen in a very different light than in the US. The hunters are like the patrol-men of the croplands — they help protect the lands from doves. They do, honest!
The fact is that our province is home to over 50 million doves. Their population is capable of easily consuming 30% or more of the local grain crops. A year round open season is our way of providing hunters the needed practice and pleasure from the sport, it also helps us deal with a serious problem in an enjoyable method.
On the other hand, in US migratory birds like the dove are considered as a resource that needs to be protected. According to the Office of Law Enforcement:
“Mourning doves and other migratory birds are a national resource protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. The mourning dove is the most hunted migratory game bird in North America, and dove Hunting is a popular sport in many parts of this country. Federal and State regulations help ensure that these birds continue to thrive while providing hunting opportunities.” — Hence the limits.
In conclusion: in US, your hunt is just for sport. With us, it’s more than that:
We hope you believe us when we tell you that there is no limit on dove hunting in Argentina with SYC Sporting Adventures in Cordoba.

Reproducing up to four times a year, they pose a great threat to corn, sorghum, wheat, and peanuts – the grain crops that dot the fields interspersed with dense hillsides – until the government allowed hunters the opportunity to experience incredible games throughout the year!
